Circles South West is an independent regional charity working towards our vision of ‘No More Victims’ of sexual abuse. Since 2010 we have provided Circles of Support and Accountability (Circles) across South West England for individuals convicted of sexual offences. In more recent years we have extended our offer to provide Prison/Through the Gate Circles. We have also adapted the model to provide Circles for adults with intellectual disabilities and for young people with harmful sexual behaviour. In addition to Circles, we provide some support services for non-offending partners and training for professionals.
We have an exceptional pool of around 200 skilled Volunteers and we need more. Our Volunteers are from all walks of life; they are approachable, emotionally stable and have a mature outlook. The ability to maintain firm boundaries is essential. Volunteers are asked to commit around 2-4 hours per week for 12-18 months. We provide full training, ongoing professional support and reimburse expenses. Appointment is dependent on satisfactory references and criminal record checks.
