We’re delighted to share our Annual Review for 2023-24.
Each year, we publish this document to update on the provision of Circles across the UK, sharing key information on impact, but also on the demographic of Circles service users and volunteers, and on our work with our partners, including CirclesEurope.
Once again, our Annual Review shows the continued positive impact of Circles of Support and Accountability, with Circles Providers working tirelessly to innovate, recruit volunteers and deliver this essential work.
Key updates in this year’s Review include:
- An increase in the number of Circles delivered from 2022-23 to 2023-24
- An ongoing trend of the most common offence committed by a Core Member (service user) of a Circle being offences against children and viewing images of child sexual exploitation material (CSEM)
- 770 volunteers available to deliver a Circle
- The accreditation of three new Circles Providers
- The successful pilot of Circles ReBoot, specifically designed to provide a semi-structured programme for people who access CSEM
- Successful Code of Practice compliance reviews for all Providers assessed
- Training delivered to more than 200 people via the Circles UK team
In her foreword, Circles UK CEO Riana Taylor says:
“2023-24 has once again been a year of both challenges and achievements. I am immensely proud of everything we have achieved to grow our profile, support the Circles Provider network and making policy makers and members of the public aware of the impact of Circles as an effective response to reducing further victims of sexual abuse.
“I want to express my sincere appreciation to the Circles UK Trustees and staff who supported me in my role. I am also enormously grateful to all those who have supported and helped us to continue to develop Circles UK and the Circles offer, including our loyal funders and donors, Circles Providers including staff and volunteers, our CirclesEurope partners and our broader support network.“We also acknowledge the Core Members who work with the volunteers in their Circles to address their problematic behaviour to be able to live a more positive, abuse free life.”
